When Psychology meets the Bible
Our Director of Studies, Dr Rebecca Watson, has contributed a chapter to a new work, ‘When Psychology Meets the Bible’. This work is an encounter between biblical studies and psychology/social sciences. A group of 17 scholars from across the world and from various psychological persuasions have considered texts from many parts of the Hebrew Bible and New Testament.
Rebecca has written on Psalm 88, which is widely thought to be the most depressing in the whole Psalter! She concluded that the psalm isn’t so much depressive as a response to awful circumstances.
