6 weekends a year and an 8 day summer school lie at the heart of building the ERMC community. This is a typical pattern for a weekend

Friday: The weekend begins with worship and dinner. This is followed by time catching up with peers in a cross year learning and fellowship group, that offers mutual support, prayer and theological reflection. The evening ends with a Student Forum for dealing with student news and business.

Saturday: This is the heart of the weekend and has time for worship, formal teaching from the Reflective programme, seeing your staff mentor, buying books, visiting the library and socialising. The weekend programme revolves around the placement for the year (the Attachment Church in Year One, a Church Placement in Year Two, a Personal Development Placement in Year Three). The first year programme is joined by the local Readers in Training who are also on placement.

Sunday: The final morning sees worship in groups, further engagement with the theme, a Community meeting and a concluding service.

Student experience: Tim Watson
"I have learned so much from studying, sharing and reflecting on the practice of ministry with fellow students who have decades of experience in teaching, social work, the arts, business and full-time Christian work, ably and sensitively facilitated by an outstanding staff team. I can think of no better way to make the transition to ordained ministry."
