About ERMC
The Basics: The Eastern Region Ministry Course (ERMC) is an ecumenical institution of theological education which prepares men and women for different kinds of ministry (whether ordained or not), principally but not exclusively authorized ministry in the Anglican, Methodist and United Reformed Churches. We also provide courses for those already in ministry who are looking for a variety of opportunities for in-service training. The ERMC is a member of the Cambridge Theological Federation, a unique ecumenical group of theological training institutions in Cambridge, offering various undergraduate and postgraduate study programmes and degrees currently validated by Anglia Ruskin University and the University of Cambridge, usually as part of an overall training programme in formation for ministry. >>> More information about how ERMC works...
How...? ERMC operates in two related "delivery modes", using a dispersed learning model in geographical areas where frequent class meetings are not possible, and a centre-based model at St Albans and Norwich. We work closely with both the Norwich Diocesan Ministry Course and the Ministry Development department of the St. Albans Diocese, as well as the various sending institutions (diocese, synods, etc.) to ensure that the best possible training scenario for each student is put in place. Current and prospective students may find the ERMC Handbook (updated every year) useful in respect of both delivery modes. >>> More information specifically for new or prospective students...
Who and where...? ERMC has a diverse and committed core staff team of full-time and part-time teachers and administrators who live and work across the region. Our main offices are located in Cambridge. You may wish to have a look at a few detailed pages about our staff, as well as general contact details.
Varia: At some point, we hope to develop a little image gallery to help put some life into this website. On the more serious side, we also invite you to read our privacy policy and our web philosophy. ERMC staff or students who wish to send in documents for inclusion on our website should please consult the guidelines for submission of documents for the ERMC website. Talking about sending in documents: the 'Resources' section also has detailed information on the process of handing in assignments. - You may also find the sitemap and / or our search facility useful.
